Veritas Preparatory Program is a referral-based Saturday school designed for high-achieving students in grades 5-7. Veritas Prep exists for parents who want their children to go beyond what’s taught in regular school and explore more advanced learning at an earlier age to promote accelerated academic and social development.

Prospective scholars will only be considered with a referral from a teacher, counselor, or administrator from their current or previous grade level. The referral must vouch for the candidate’s high-achieving tendencies and potential for accelerated growth, citing specific examples of academic excellence and social maturity. You should request the referral as a written letter directly from your preferred teacher, counselor, or administrator. The online application will require you to submit the referral letter along with the application.
The ideal candidate is a high-performing student who consistently demonstrates strong academic abilities in their grade level. They excel in core subjects like reading, writing, and math, often going beyond what is expected for their age. They show an ability to grasp new concepts quickly and apply their knowledge to solve problems.
Candidates should exhibit a genuine passion for learning, showing a naturally inquisitive nature by asking many questions about people, events, and ideas in the world around them.
The ideal candidate has strong foundational communication skills for their age. They can share their ideas clearly in writing and conversation and enjoy engaging in discussions with teachers and classmates.
This student works well with others, listens to different perspectives, and contributes positively in group settings. They are cooperative, respectful, and show the ability to take on leadership roles in team activities.
The student should demonstrate the ability to concentrate and thrive in a highly disciplined environment for an extended period of time without being distracted. The student and their family should understand and be ready to commit to the program’s time requirements. Attendance every Saturday (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM) for the school year is a crucial for achieving the program’s intended outcomes.

Veritas Prep is referral-based only. Prospective students must include a referral letter from a teacher, counselor, or administrator at their current school in order to complete a Veritas application.
Applications open for referred students on February 1, 2025 – February 28, 2025.
Admission interviews will be conducted in March 2025.
Admission decisions will be communicated in April 2025.

No, only Veritas Debate Institute scholars (who are in grades 8-11) go to Harvard. Veritas Prep will eventually have an opportunity to study at Harvard through VDI when they are of age.
Veritas Prep scholars may remain in the program from one to three years.
Scholars must commit to class every Saturday from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM for one full school year, excluding holiday/school break weekends. Veritas Prep follows the same academic calendar as most public and private schools.
